03 Feb Roman Carnival in Antequera
Contest costumes, parades, proclamation, recovery of the meeting of coplillas … Carnival of Antequera does not miss anything to be a great party of the most fun. This year will also have as its central theme “Roman Antequera” after the recent approval of the Government of Spain grant for the recovery of the Roman Villa of the Station.
Saturday, February 10th will be the most important day with dozens of activities that will begin at 11:30 am in the traditional tent that is installed at Paseo Real with the Children’s Costume Contest. There will be two main categories: free themes and Antequera Romana. But there will also be Adult Costume Contest, starting at 10:30 p.m., in that same enclave. In the tent at Royal Walk, there will also be workshops and children’s activities for the day and musical performances and bar at night.
The Torcal Municipal Theater will host, starting at 5:00 p.m., the bulk of the afternoon session of the Carnival with the development of the Carnival Proclamation and as a novelty this year the recovery of the carnival match. At around 8:00 pm the Carnival parade will take place through the streets of the center.
After the carnival, from February 21st to March 4th, the Gastroturistic Route returns to Antequera. This year with “La Maratón de la tapa” as support and dissemination of the Declaration of Antequera as the European City of Sport 2018.
