13 Nov Discovering Lleida
Venture into Lleida through its corners, history, culture, gastronomy, art … and discover its secrets. There are five different routes for groups and individuals, with tourist guide included, the most interesting: The Secret Lleida, Modernist Lleida, Through the streets of the Medieval City, Charming Corners and The Cathedrals and its Treasures.
The route “Secret Lleida” focuses on the archaeological aspects of the historic center of the city. The route is based on three main points: the Remains of the Palace of the Paeria, the Remains of the apse of the old church of Sant Joan and the Remains of the Medieval Wall of Anselm Clavé.
With the “Modernist Lleida” you will know, at first hand, the modernist constructions of this destination. Many of them have been restored and have managed to return to the original splendor. Among them stand out: the Municipal Theater of the Escorxador, the Baró House, the Morera House, the Xamar House or the Pal-les building.
With the route “Through the Streets of the Medieval City”, you will live a most rewarding experience when you get to know the monuments and art of Lleida. With the carrer Cavallers -one of the most important medieval roads in the city-, as the main location, the visitor can admire emblematic buildings. Among them: The Church of Sant Martí, Panera, Plaza de Ereta, La Palma. El Pósito Viejo or the Peu del Romeu chapel.
In “Charming Corners” you will have the opportunity to walk along the pedestrian axis, one of the longest in Europe where you will find great artistic and historical exponents such as the Sang, the New Cathedral, the Old Hospital of Santa María, the Paeria Palace or the Church of Sant Joan.
The route “The Cathedrals and its treasures” proposes a different alternative through the Seu Vella and the treasures stored in the Museum of Lleida. You can complete this route with a visit to the New Cathedral.
