01 Feb Party, leisure and culture at Albacete Carnival

With a wide range of activities full of leisure and culture for all ages is celebrated in Albacete one of its most anticipated parties of the year, the Carnival, which will bring to the streets of Albacete color, humor, and very good atmosphere. The party will begin on February 8th with the celebration of Thursday Lardero and end on Wednesday, February 14th with the burial of the sardine. The proclamation, this year, will be given by Germán Scasso, winner of the “Tu cara no me suena suena” program, on Friday 9th, and then the XX Chirigotas Show.

But there will be attractions and children’s shows, sports, concerts, video games, karaoke, chocolate … and, of course, Carnival Parade, on Saturday 10th, with charangas, masks, costumes and groups enrolled in the parade itself, It will start at 7:00 p.m. A parade that will have an accompaniment and a great final batucada in Plaza del Altozano.

The finale to this 2018 Carnival will take place on Wednesday, February 14th, starting at 7:00 p.m., with the wake to the Sardine on San José de Calasanz Street, where you will taste the popular sardine and manchego wine fleas. Later, at 7:30 pm, the courtship and burning of the Sardine will take place, starting from the Plaza de Gabriel Lodares to Plaza del Altozano. Precisely in this square will take place the awards of Carnival Costumes Contest and the XX Chirigotas Exhibition. Finally, the sardine will be burned.
