01 Mar Holy Week of Albacete, root and feeling
Declared of National Tourist Interest, the Holy Week of Albacete is lived with great roots and feeling: the sound of the bands, the smell of incense, silence and respect before the passage of the images and the recollection will be present in the streets of this city of La Mancha will demonstrate, once again, the solemnity and great quality of Holy Week.
The Holy Week of Albacete stands out for its rich artistic, cultural and human heritage, and also for its tourist attraction as well as for the passion and fervor with which the inhabitants of this city live these days.
In this edition, the image of Jesus de Medinaceli will be the owner and the one that illustrates the poster of the Holy Week of 2018, an image to which Albacete has a great fervor and that fills the streets for which it goes out in procession during the afternoon of Holy Thursday, starting from the parish of Franciscans.
Processions start on Palm Sunday and end on Resurrection Sunday. As a curious fact, note that Nazarenes distribute candies to the public attending the processions, especially children.
In total there are 14 brotherhoods that come out during these dates with the Saints who venerate in processions.
