One of the most beautiful landscapes that you will find in Peninsula is Las Médulas, a World Heritage Site since 1997. These characteristics reddish hills with a lot of green vegetation are the result of nature and the landslide that made the Romans to extract gold.
Located in El Bierzo, in León province, the impact on the environment was such that the movement of land and water originated the impressive Lake Carrudedo. The views from Mirador de la Orellán, especially at dawn or dusk, which leave your own postcard images, are highly recommended.
