18 Sep Puertollano, a natural treasure in La Mancha
Puertollano is one of the favorite destinations for lovers of nature and outdoor activity. Nothing better than to start or end the day with a quiet stroll through its fascinating nineteenth century Botanic Garden in the heart of the city, or along Paseo de San Gregorio and the Park – Museo del Pozo Norte, which will allow us to get an idea of its mining past. From the hill of Santa Ana, we will discover the best panorama of the city and, in that area, you will be able to practice climbing.
If you prefer hiking, the Path of the Miners, the Greenway of the Coal and the Silver, you will love it. You can also take the bike and go to Cerro de Buenavista, among other mountain bike routes, and you can recover your strength in magnificent Dehesa Boyal.
4×4 fans have a permanent circuit near the Ojailén River.
Also worthy of note are the Natural Park of the Alcudia Valley and the Sierra Madrona, a landscape of contrasts from the holm oak to the oak forests, with a transhumant tradition and ancestral mining heritage, such as the Roman archaeological site of Sisapo. They will not leave you indifferent spectacles like the bellowing of the deer or the flight of the cranes.
