22 Nov Tarragona, a thousand sensations to discover

With more than 2,000 years of history, Tarragona is a unique city with a Roman and medieval past and a present of the most cosmopolitan. A city that deserves a break to get to know it calmly and enjoy all its heritage, historical, cultural and gastronomic heritage.

You can start the visit to the city by the Cathedral, in the highest part of the city; continue through the Roman Amphitheater, which once hosted the gladiatorial fights and on which centuries later a Visigothic basilica and a Romanesque church were builded; the Scale of the Roman Tarraco, the miniature reconstruction of Tarraco in s. II and the Praetorium and Roman Circus. Other of the main tourist attractions of Tarragona are: Rambla Nova, which is the main promenade with more than 150 years of existence and the largest number of modern stores; Central Market, full of fresh and seasonal products in a very typical atmosphere, and the Plazas de la Font, Fòrum and Rei, with terraces full of people and hustle and bustle in a unique environment. And, of course, do not miss out on Mediterrany Balcony, an impressive viewpoint with views of the sea; to Serrallo, a typical fishermen’s neighborhood, and to enjoy the many and varied beaches, the climate of Tarragona is mild most of the year.
