27 may Tasting Villanueva de Cordoba
One of the many reasons to visit Villanueva de Cordoba is its gastronomy. Throughout the year there are several events organized to publicize this aspect of its character as Fair Iberian Ham of Los Pedroches, the Feast of the killing and folk crafts. It is also celebrate in spring, the “Tapas route”, when the weather invites to enjoy outdoors. In this event, organized by the Municipality of Villanueva, more than twenty restaurants and bars, prepare delicious dishes with the best raw materials from the earth, Iberian pork, veal, etc.
This time the “Taspas Route” take place from 12th to 14th June, a full weekend which can be further enhanced by visits to Interpretation Center Dehesa, bomb shelter of the Civil War Museum Local History and the City and, of course, a visit to the Dehesa, to enjoy some of the most beautiful and privileged natural environments in the world.
Special mention we have to make the pilgrimage of the Virgen de Luna, which was held on 25th May and has been declared of Tourist Interest in Andalusia. For three days (23rd, 24th and 25th May) the “Feria Chica” was held as a prelude to this pilgrimage.
