18 Nov Industrial tourism in Puertollano

The rich mining legacy of Puertollano makes this destination especially attractive if you like to do industrial tourism. Located in the province of Ciudad Real in Castilla La Mancha, in Puertollano you will feel how the barreneros and artillery have lived as well as the paleros and picadores or even the wagons in past times, through an interesting route chronologically guided by the different stages of this industrial city and its rich mining heritage.

At the entrance of the city we will find the Castillete del Pozo de Santa María and on the way out, another of its main identity, the Mining Museum.

You can not say goodbye to Puertollano without climbing the hill of Santa Ana to see the magnificent views of the city and the monument to the Miner, a colossus of bronze about 17 meters high, neorealist style that represents the figure of a miner. It is the main symbol of Puertollano, of its mine and miners without which the present of this city would not be understood.
