10 May A very intense agenda in Seville this May
During the month of May Seville offers an interesting cultural agenda addressed to all audiences. Here are the most relevant events:
8 to 14 May: 20 Jazz Festival University of Seville- Assejazz. With the Turina Space as the main center, there will be great figures from the national jazz scene, such as the Andalusia Big Band and Kontxi Lorente Trio, as well as international figures such as Judi Jackson Quartet. In addition to the performances, there will be class masters, workshops for children, jam sessions and a film cycle. Other spaces that will welcome some of these activities are the Torre de los Perdigones and CICUS.
12 to 22 May: 37th International Puppet Fair. One more year is a new edition of this interesting event for families and children, which includes 32 companies of puppet theater, 31 shows and a total of 47 performances, both national and international companies.
18 to 28 May: Seville Book Fair. With the motto ‘Read is to see beyond the pages’ is presented the Book Fair of Seville 2017, which, in this edition, is committed to an extensive and varied program that will feature the presence of the most outstanding authors of the national literary scene and With cultural activities with the promotion of reading as a protagonist.
19th and 20th May: II Festival Interstellar Seville. The Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art will be the setting for this new edition of Interstellar Seville, featuring Los Planetas, Loquillo, Love of Lesbian, Fangoria, Sidonie, Second, The Red Room, Leon Benavente, LA, Maga, Corizonas, Neuman, Carlos Sadness, Depedro, among other names.
26 May to 11 June: Sevilla Circada Festival will invade the city to place it at the epicenter of the national contemporary circus. Your schedule will reconcile street and room. It highlights the Gala X Aniversario in the Central Theater, a marathon of three hours of circus in which you will be able to see again the most emblematic shows that have passed through the festival in this decade.
May 27: Ricky Martin concert at the Cartuja Stadium. International artist Ricky Martin has included Seville on his tour of different Spanish cities.
28 and 31 May: La Bohème, by Giacomo Puccino, at the Teatro de la Maestranza. The orchestral refinement and the beautiful arias and duos of this famous opera will once again play in the Teatro de la Maestranza. Romanian soprano Anita Hartig, tenor José Bros and baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez will delight us under the direction of Pedro Halffter.
