20 Dec A magical date at Christmas in Seville
Christmas in Seville has always been a long-awaited, authentic and endearing celebration, but for a few years it has become one of the most demanded destinations to enjoy these Christmas dates.
At Christmas, more than 260 streets are decorated to receive these dates. These are emblematic places in the historic center such as the Plaza del Salvador, Calle Sierpes, Calle Cuna or Avenida de la Constitución that fascinate neighbors and visitors with impressive decoration and lighting. In addition Seville enjoys good weather throughout the year, so we can enjoy its beautiful streets without having to face the rain, snow or low temperatures typical of this time of year in many other destinations.
Plaza de San Francisco in Seville hosts a show of light and music every night. In addition to traditional lighting, this year there are a number of attractions that make the trip an unparalleled experience: trees and spheres of light, multicolored labyrinths, ice skating rinks, a large snowball in the Alameda …
And if you make the getaway to Seville with children on these dates, visit Pequelab, from January 2nd to 5th, at Espacio Turina. Within this program they will have laboratories to photograph, draw or dance, monsters’ traveling shows, circus school, crafts and science. In the Real Alcázar, the Kings of the Alcázar will collect the letters of the children as intermediaries of their Majesties the Magi from the East until January 5th, 2018, from 11:00 to 14:00.
Finally, we remind you that this year Seville celebrates the Murillo Year, so you have a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the activities that commemorate the 400th anniversary of the birth of this universal Seville painter. You can visit the new exhibition of the Casa Murillo or the Museum of Fine Arts with its sample “Murillo and the Capuchins of Seville” and also if you come before December 23rd you can admire the handmade pieces of the Fair of Bethlehem, a whole referring to the national level of this art.
